Recently, I pulled out my BGH and messaged someone from my past. No, it did not take a lot for me to do so but it meant more that I actually followed through with it. Here is an individual who I have not spoken 2 in over a year...mainly b/c he has made no attempt & I don't care to engage. The details of why we haven't spoken are what they are and I will leave them at that. Honestly, sometimes the BEST goodbye is to just walk away. This I did, with my dignity in tact b/c see I refused to be the woman scorned, act out of revenge or be the cause of another woman's pain. So, I walked away...with a smile on my face. Did I hurt? Sure, but you live & you learn. Fast forward a year and I find out he's are getting married. I laughed at first then walked in my inner closet & put on my BGH...it was time to walk that runway. "I hear you're getting married, Congratulations!" ...the message read. Short, sweet & to the point. No need to identify myself, he knows who it came from. He did not respond which I expected and that's completely alright with me. For I was the winner here...I rocked the BGH very well. 6ft 3in of strong bold, grown-woman confidence and it felt good!
I say all that to say this...No matter what the situation may be, if you find yourself facing something...take a moment, think on it, plan your approach & put on your Big Girl Heels. It's so worth it & you deserve it!!!
