Origins Pt. 2

When I reflect on how we came 2 be, I smile at a past of cultured education, style, the finer things & foreshadows of an eclectic soulful future. I believe everything happens for a reason and this bond was predestined for us. I could take the time to explain what these 3 women mean to me but it’d be like reading a never-ending dissertation...just too many details. What started as 4 friends coming together 4 a weekend of Jill Scott’s Block Party turned into nothing short of magical bliss that continued to build as the seconds rolled by. 3 1/2 days felt like 7...that’s how much goodness was packed into that weekend. WE ARE...4DopeGirlsATL. We are 4 dope-a-licious fashionistas working 2wards the epitome of greatness while painting the world w/ love, intellect, soul, beauty, inspiration, good times, friendship & of course music. We are a force, if you will, ready to take on any & everything life sends our way. It’s funny that 4 women from different states/coasts w/ a common love for FAMU would move on to share so much passion for the same things in life that this movement would be birthed. In the words of Ericka, “who knew!” Even funnier is that only 1 of us currently resides in ATL...this will soon change. Though that weekend has long been over, our friendship & sisterhood will never be. I’m excited to be connected to these sistas and to welcome you into our lives. Origins

When I reflect on how we began, fond past memories and hopes of future encounters flood my brain. At this point its almost as if work, although a necessary entity, is interrupting my life; as I am impatiently anticipating the next time the 4dopegirlsATL will unite, and the adventures that will ensue. What started out as 4 girls that met in college gathering for a weekend of fun, has now morphed into a movement. These 3 sistas have all touched my life and have inspired me in many ways. Our 1st weekend as the established "4dopegirlsATL" was nothing short of magical. New friendships were formed, and favor and provision went before us the entire weekend. At many times it was an out of body experience. This movement was birthed from a place of peacefulness, positive energy, excitement for life, tenacity for fun, a desire to live a full, healthy life, a love for all things dope, and a commitment to enjoying and sharing this love with others through this blog.
